Our Staff

Mark E. Wilson
Senior Pastor

Mark joined the pastoral staff North Fairfield in 1997. He is a graduate of Temple Baptist College in Cincinnati, Ohio, with a Bachelor of Arts with his major in pastoral studies. Mark has earned a Master of Divinity at Newburgh Theological Seminary in Newburg, Indiana, with his major in preaching. In June 2014, Mark earned a Doctor of Ministry degree at Newburgh Theological Seminary with his major in pastoral ministries. He began his preaching and teaching ministry early in 1983. Mark has two biblical principles that guide his pastoral ministry: 1) is to be an effective leader you must be willing to serve; 2) we must teach those things that become sound doctrine. He believes that the Bible teaches that all leadership of the church should reflect both of those principles. Pastor Mark also has served on several different committees of the Executive Board for the State Convention of Baptists in Ohio and the Southern Baptist Convention. Before accepting the call as the Senior Pastor position in February 2005, Mark worked in the grocery warehouse industry for 25 years. Pastor Mark’s preaching and teaching style has always been biblically based. His sermons are always drawn from the Scripture with practical challenges and applications from the message. Mark preaches “sermon series” and usually bases those series on a book of the Bible taking it verse by verse to proclaim the truth about God and His Son. Preaching should always focus on the truth found in the person of Jesus Christ! Mark enjoys spending time with his wife Brenda. They have been married since 1980 and have two adult children: son, Mark Daniel, and a daughter Lauren Elizabeth. Pastor Mark has several different interests that he enjoys in his free time. He loves to ride his road bicycle with friends and he is an avid outdoors man, a passion passed down from his father.

Jeff joined the staff at North Fairfield in September of 2012. He felt God calling him and his family to join the team at NFBC and lead the Worship Ministry. Jeff believes that worship is much more than music. It’s a lifestyle devoted to what is most important to us. God has created us as worshiping beings and He desires that we worship Him with our lives. He believes that music is an important part of our corporate worship experience and that God desires that the songs on our lips be an overflowing expression of the love in our hearts for Him. Prior to joining NFBC, Jeff was Worship Leader at Fairfield West Baptist for 12 years. Jeff is married to Michelle and they have two girls, Emily and Maggie.

Susan Branson

Susan joined the office staff in June of 1989 after being a stay-at-home mom for many years. She considers this position to be a ministry, not a job. Each day brings something new and exciting in God’s work at North Fairfield. When she was a teenager, Susan and her parents joined the congregation of North Fairfield. She served the Lord through music as church pianist and soloist for many years. Susan has been married to Rob since 1970 and they have two daughters, Christa and Beth (and son-in-law Gregg), and two granddaughters. Christa and Beth grew up actively attending and sharing their God given talents in the music ministry at North Fairfield.
